Please 😀 ?!?

It's been a struggle for me from pretty much day one, but I'm trying hard not to give up. Please tell me why I will be glad I didn't...I just need some encouragement at this point because I keep hitting road blocks with this machine.

Thank you!

Main Reason, Because I don't want to use Windows. OS-wars aside, I spend extended periods of time in front of computers and it is less depressing when the computer you stare at looks nice 😀.

Because my mac works, i feel less stressed using it. I can't explain it but when i used windows i feel like i got 'Windows Rage' and the feeling of wanting to throw the machine out the window consumed me.

On my mac i am happy......not stressed......get thingss done without wasting times with 'hangs' or 'crashes' or just general windows crapness!

General simplicity I guess. No huge array of subfolders, or annoying speech bubbles popping up from the start bar. It's all just where it should be. And if it isn't, theres always spotlight!

Plus my PowerMac starts up fully ready-to-use in 27 seconds. 😛

Us telling you why we like using Macs is not going to help you in any way if you're having problems. You'd probably do better posting your problems and asking for help. Just my opinion. 🙂

My mac works the way i want it to, it does ilif very well and its the best looking computer on the market.

It seldom freezes, and when it does, just that app freezes. Not everything you have open. Then, force quit actually works on the mac, unlike end task in windows task manager.

It works period. My G3 turns 8 yrs old this month and only had to replace the battery. If you are struggling, then post what your struggling with. It sounds like your expecting it to be like a Windows box, there not.

Here is the deal. I had to take a trip out of state and while the trip was more personal, it's not vacation. I was given a work laptop to work from. I struggled for days on whether or not to take my powerbook. Even though I probably wouldn't have time for much more than surfing the net, I just did not want to be stuck with this windows machine. I ended up not taking it because of a surgery I just had makes it hard to carry things. I wanted to lighten my load. in doing so I can safely say that I miss my powerbook. It takes forever for this windows machine to get loaded and going. While I love windows (2k) and I have no real complaints about it, I just like how my powerbook rolls. 😉

Okay, I found something I really like...it was SOOO easy to partition and format the external drive that has been uncooperative. I formatted a 200GB partition in Mac OS Extended (it will be for storage only) and the other 32.9 GB to DOS-FAT32. I'm thinking of putting Windows on that partition for when I have to run Windows programs. Can I do that? Run and OS and programs from an external drive?

I love it because of what it doesnt do.

It doesnt- die; crash; stall; get viruses; bug me; ask me if I'm sure that I want to do that, then ask again, and again; fall apart; cause me to go to PC World; make me install drivers to run a freaking pen drive; look horrible; take an hour to set up; drink the battery...

Anyone want to carry on?😉

I couldn't have put it better myself 🙂

Mac's are magic ......... Pc's are errr. ......... CRAP

I love my mac:

I love my mac sam i am,
I love it more than green eggs and ham,
I love the way it works so smooth,
so seamless and flawless like it should,
The it always keeps it's cool,
when some program is trying to act a fool (limewire, itunes, etc),
The way it keeps itself so clean,
mac's never heard of the dreaded blue screen,
I love it's user interface,
the Aqua theme they should never replace,

you see i love my mac sam i am,
i love it way more than green eggs and ham,
I'll forever keep it looking pristine,
and i'll never give it up, not for anything.

Because after 5 years it's still chugging along without a problem 🙂 It's not a speed demon, but it does what I need fairly quickly. Everything just works!

Do you have a Intel or PPC Mac?

I'd favour parallels or bootcamp if you are using the Intel Mac

I love mine for one reason: The computer is pretty

There is no wires going from the display to a tower on my G5 or iBook and the white finish just tops it off.

I LOVE THEM!

eenu, intel. I was just hoping to not have to buy anything else right now. Hoping is an understatement, actually...I CAN'T buy anything else right now.

Because this tosser doesn't pop up every three minutes FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER
