I know i can right/control click and go to show in playlist.

I really want to go through and sort my thousand songs but i wont be able to tell which ones are in playlist already. is there a tweak/app to have it playlist as an option where album artist size length and all that are? or anything similar? thanks

Also i know i could make a playlist that has "not in" and go through each playlist i dont want to do this either thanks

What criteria do you have for putting a song in a playlist? Is it your intent to have all songs in some playlist?

Well, there is a way to identify songs that aren't in any playlist, but many times it's not necessary if someone uses smart playlists. This script will do it, from Doug's AppleScripts for iTunes, which is a great resource for managing your iTunes tags and files.

No, playlists are not a tag that you can sort by.
