Hi all,

I've just spent the last two days at CeBIT Australia, which is running at the Darling Harbour Convention Centre in Sydney.

The last speaker at the eMarketing & SEO conference today was Chris Smith, CEO of Sensis.

For those from overseas, Sensis is the online content, search and transaction division of Telstra, our dominant telco in Australia. Sensis owns the Yellow and White Pages, online and off, as well as popular local alternatives to Google Maps and so on.

Chris' speech outlined Tesltra's new and planned moves into mobile search and online content. In the Q & A session he was asked (by the moderator) about the iPhone and Telstra. His comments were:

"Watch this space."

"Sol (Trujillo - Telstra MD) is a big fan of that touch screen technology."

"I'm sure we will be there one way or another."

Is this the first 'leak' from Telstra on the iPhone topic?

Umm, all those links were 'a source reported' or 'it is believed'. Several said 'Telstra refused to comment'.

This was straight from the mouth of Telstra's search division MD.

(Sorry, not trying to smack you down).

The CeBIT conferences have been excellent - too much to go into on this thread (and OT). I've been in so many conferences I haven't had more than 20 minutes on the exhibition floor yet. But the buzz was pretty good all around. Lots of interesting products and services on show.

The conferences are worth every cent!

Quite :D

You got on record Telstra saying:
"Watch this space." that Trujillo liked touch tech, and "I'm sure we will be there one way or another."

Small steps. Darn annoying when they have to tease with us! :)
