can someone explain how to connect the temperature sensor cable to a WD HDD?

I ordered the cable from applecomponents.com to swap the stock seagate for a WD HDD. Not a big thing, but the WD has 8 pins (2 rows of 4) whereas the sensor cable connector has 6 holes (2 rows of 3).

the connector fits perfectly, but I would like to do it right, to avoid a 2nd tear apart.

Looking at the drive, plug it in to the right (6) pins. That is the way I remember it on mine.

Test it before you screw your LCD back in. Once everything is plugged in, go ahead and power up the machine. If the fan slows down you are good to go. It if stays at a high RPM, then something is not plugged in right. Verify this before taking the time to get those screws back in.

thanks for the tip of testing - it's hard to tell what you mean with the right 6 pins. Since the pins aren't located in the middle of the HDD: would you say plugging it closer to the short side or to the longer side?
