Its not free but its one of the more robust apps - iStat Menus

x2 on iStat menus. You can have a really nice, and comprehensive reading of all your temps right in your menu bar. The UI is also very appealing to the eye and doesn’t require you to open any apps to see the temps or other readings. You can also use it to watch your RAM usage along with several other settings. It’s totally worth the $10.
