I don't know about MBP's SMC control but at 60C, that would scare the crap out of my MB and make the fans jump from 1500RPM (default) to around 3000RPM more or less.

e12a macrumors 68000 Nov 9, 2006 #9 60 is fine I get at the high 50s if i'm doing stuff. at idle i'm high 40s. my friend's CD MBP idled at 60...until i introduced him to the glorious smcfancontrol. and The macbook isnt made out of aluminum 😉 .
