Temperatures, Chrome Vs Safari Vs Firefox

    I dont have a way to check the speed of my mac but it seems like safari runs the coolest, has anyone tried chrome? ive been doing a lot of MRoogling and it seems that firefox runs the higer end graphics card, do safari not? or what about google chrome? or internet explorer?

    from ALL the threads I've read on this, looks like safari is the ONLY browser that runs off the intergrated card.

    kinda blows. I do think there is a fix using a graphics switcher thingie download (sorry can't remember it right now). But I've seen posts where some people say it's buggy

    IE runs on Windows and thus it looses nearly all the power savings features and of course the Intel HD. It will definitely run the hottest.
    For all the rest on OSX as long as you force Intel HD with gfxcardstatus they all run cool enough. Since Apples auto switching was done pretty much the silliest way possible. Force Intel always unless you know you need the other GPU.
    You are missing Opera in the list btw.

    Safari runs the coolest, by about 8-10 degrees, on my mid-2009 MBP.

    Geez safari by a landslide, looks like apple knows what their doing! (again :D)

    Firexox 4 - from 45 - 50 C on regular browsing + 6-7 tabs open.Goes up to 60 C when watching youtube, flash.
