I have recently bought a 2012 non-Retina MBP which is mainly used for work, web etc. but I sometimes use it for playing Guild Wars 2 in BootCamp. Whilst gaming I use Lubbo's MacBook Pro Fan Control to turn the fans to full and CPUID Hardware Monitor to keep an eye on temperatures. The temperatures usually max about 95 degrees C on CPU cores 1-4 and the "Package". I have previously recorded maximums of 100 degrees C before i started using a Cooling Pad. This occurs with the fans both running at full speed and with a cooling pad under the laptop.

I am running the game at the setting chosen using Auto Detection.

Is this normal for this laptop?

Is it likely to cause any harm?

I have noticed that as soon as I quit the game temperatures decrease rapidly and the fan speeds quickly drop to 2000 or lower.
