Anyone know if a B&M Apple store will take temporary checks? lol 😕

Other wise I will have to use cash unless my debit card comes in tomorrow before I leave to buy my macbook.

Apple Store OKC says must have pre-printed Name/Address.

Looks like all systems go. 🙂

Just so you know, Apple payment processing does not release the go ahead
and ship order until your payment clears. That can take days, be it check, M.O. or credit card transaction.

It might cost you $12-18.00 but I would wire the funds directly from your bank to Apple's wire account. Your sales rep can give you all the details.

All you need is the Web Order Number that Apple provides you along with
the account information.

I would NEVER carry that much cash, especially this time of year.

I'f you're going strictly for an in store purchase, I would get all the important information from the store manager like the final total with taxes etc. and take a certified check from your bank for that amount.

From what I remember, they don't take starter checks. Are those the same as temporary checks? Your name and address must be printed on the check for them to process it. Otherwise, they just won't accept it.

do NOT, under any circumstances carry that much cash with you! Get a cashiers check from your bank for $1000 made out to the Apple Store, and a $100 or so in cash for the balance........

there are peeps out there that will kill you (literally) for $1k in cash, and not think twice about it !

Er, what's wrong with carrying $1000 in cash for a special one-off errand?

No-one will know you have it on you if you act normal and don't flash it around, or dart furtively from car to car like you're carrying the Crown Jewels.

Of course I agree it's silly to carry large amounts every day, but for a one-off journey to the apple store, it should be OK.

It's no more dangerous than carrying your new apple macbook or imac back home on public transport, which I see people doing everyday.

With regards to debit/atm/check cards, be sure to check what the daily limit is. Many cards have a per day limit of $500-$1000. I've been bitten in the rear before by the limit when trying to buy stuff online.

That's London. Try doing that in Chicago.
