temporaryitems in iTunes folder???

I just ran CCC to make a clone of my iTunes folder, and noticed that a great part of the clone was a whopping 20GB of files in a hidden directory named "temporaryitems".

Is this a folder I can delete, and if not, what is it?

Now the .TemporaryItems folder on my iTunes share on my NAS is up to 58GB...
