I never-ever used my extension cord, I always plug it in directly, such a waste to include the extension cord with Macs (If they still do).
What determines uselessness? Some people who don't have a use for something? Most things out there are useless in that sense. It’s astonishing how companies spend their resources on completely useless innovations.
At the same time, there are probably plenty of people who have and do use it, and find it quite useful.I never-ever used my extension cord, I always plug it in directly, such a waste to include the extension cord with Macs (If they still do).

Clever idea, but not “must-have”. Not something I’d deliberately spend $35 on.For any one who frequently has difficulties finding a place to plug in their laptop, this will be great, but a voltage detector pen can be had for under $10 and is a good tool to own for other reasons. Just buy one of those and add it to your laptop bag. Shouldn't be too awkward to work the pen whilst plugging in the laptop.
That was a bit of a change for me going from my grounded plug MacBook Air to my MBP which only has 2 prongs. You can run your fingers along the metal body and it feels different when plugged in. Drove me nuts how the case seem to "vibrate" -- eventually bing'ed the problem and ... oh, plug only has 2 prongs. Unplugged my MBP and it didn't "vibrate" as I ran my finger along the metal body. lol.
