iPod touch Ten reasons why I like my 1st generation more than my 5th generation

1. If it gets stolen, I’ll be sad, but my pocketbook won’t care.

2. I can find cases for it.

3. I waste less time playing games on it.

4. I’m not worried about when it’ll become obsolete. I know.

5. I don’t worry about using it on the beach.

6. Finding new apps for it gives me a real sense of accomplishment.

7. I’m not worried jail breaking it will void my warranty.

8. If I’m attacked, I can use it as a weapon, instead of trying to blind attackers with the flash. (Is there an app for that?)

9. It has an ambient light sensor. (Hear that Apple?)

10. I don’t fret that I bought the wrong color.

Nice one. This is pretty much how I feel about having to use my iPhone 3G at the moment, while my S4 is being repaired. It sucks, but...it's kinda nice too. I shove it carelessly in my pocket with keys and all kinds of crap in it, no case on, chuck it on the bed without worrying about it bouncing off and onto the floor, never get paranoid that I've left it somewhere, etc... I dunno, maybe I'll be happier if I just sell the 4S and keep on using my trusty old pal

thats what you think. When i first got it on release date, it was slow and laggy. Unusable.

Thats why I leave my first gen touch docked in my car. If someone steals it, the joke is on them.

My first gen iPod touch has been consigned to a speakerdock upstairs for a few years. It gets to read 15 minutes of an audiobook to someone who's asleep in maybe 6 minutes, then it gets to go to sleep until time to ring the alarm in the morning. Pretty light duty, never gonna notice any chip lag there. It still works, so I don't fix it. Anyway what else to do with an old speakerdock that doesn't work with iPhones. They'll go to the ewaste recycling center together in some future September. Maybe even next year!
