This is just a quick mod of tenfourkit that disables the cpu intensive and slow loading default start page and replaces it with duckduckgo.com. Now it launches and loads duckduckgo almost instantly. Hopefully someone else besides myself will find this little hack useful on their Tiger machines.

Cheers.

I find it difficult to stay with DuckDuckGo as a lot of times i can't find what I'm looking for.
I use DDG as much as I can, but when it doesn't list something that's on the first page of another search engine's results, I'm forced to fall back on that with a bitter taste in my mouth.

You can still securely get googles search results via DDG, Just input !g before your search query. You can also use googles image search by using !gi. Same with Bing. Use !b or !bi. ;)

Cheers

:)This is a great tip which I didn't know. I always use either DDG or Qwant due to their alleged security features. Just did an image search !gi boxer dogs under qwant which returned pages of images of just what I was after for a slide show. Again, thanks for the tip!

I'm a bit late to the party on this one, but just wanted to say thank you to @wicknix. Your contributions are fantastic as always. Keep up the good work!

My PowerBook G4 12" is now that little bit zippier :)
