Hi, first time posting in this forum. I'm still a Mac newbie, but I have some experience with UNIX. I heard I can launch a Terminal window and run UNIX commands (Trying to recover some files from a damaged hard drive)

But when I run Terminal.app from Application -> Disk Utilities and Click on New Shell. I get a tiny window, with only the x(close) button.... I can't resize or maximize the window...

Any idea? Please help!! 😕

Odd...haven't heard of anyone with this problem in quite some time now. Anyway, the most frequent cause is that the Monaco font has somehow been turned off. Check Font Book to see if that's the case. What version of OS X are you using?
