Hi,

I just updated to Sierra, I noticed the terminal font is kinda different. Anyone else noticed that?

I can't find the original font that was there before, does anyone know what it is?

Thanks!

Is it SF Mono by any chance? :)

The original font is Menlo Regular, 11 pt. At least for the ‘Basic’ theme.

The ‘Homebrew’ theme uses Menlo at 12 pt.

From which system have you updated?

I’ve attached mine, from El Capitan.

I am not sure where the designs are located. I could not find them in the application bundle, so I am guessing it is hard-coded somewhere.

The font rendering changed definitely. I use PragmataPro as my favorite Terminal font. With Mac OS X 10.11 the font rendering change to a slightly thinner rendering. With macOS 10.12 the rendering seems to have changed back to the way it used to be before - which I actually prefer.

Besides this, the font rendering in Preview.app did improve, too. At least on a non retina display.

That actually sounds great. The font rendering has definitely worsened since Mavericks. I might actually consider upgrading to Sierra prematurely because of this.
