iPod touch Terminal for ipod question

For most of you who know what terminal is it is like "cmd" for windows or terminal for Linux but for idevices i am using "mobile terminal (old)" thats what its called, and it works perfectly runs my scripts i could access my root change my pass etc, now when i try to create shortcuts or edit the menu when the keyboard comes up terminal crashes, does anyone know a fix for this? The new terminal doesnt have these features and although the keyboard works it only TEMPORARILY saves my shortcuts once i exit out of terminal the shortcuts i put in are gone

i have used this app as well and experienced it to be buggy. you can usually find help with the docs or forum on http://code.google.com/p/mobileterminal/

I know they havent updated their app in a really long time, i Guess they have a lot of bugs to fix a giant update is needed
