Terminal showing "jeremy_shines_:~ brandon$"

    i opened terminal and it showed jeremy_shines_:~ brandon$.

    who or what the hell is jeremy shines?

    how can i fix this.



    btw i googled this name and on facebook it was some black guy from Illinois

    Are you sure you're on your wireless network rather than the wireless network of a neighboring apartment/house/etc?

    It shows your name for your Computer Name as well? (GGJstudios asked for two pieces of information.)

    This is a common annoyance when using Wi-Fi for me. To fix it once and for all, you can do this on Terminal:

    Code:
    sudo scutil --set HostName your_new_host_name
    
    Replace your_new_host_name with the name you want to use, without spaces or special characters other than _ - . For example "my.macbook" is okay.
