Not sure how to correctly describe what is happening, but after the iOS 10 update, many times when I click a link in Safari, or Tweetbot or other apps, I do not go to the link URL, I go to the default Google search page opening.

It doesn't happen ever time, but I find myself pounding my iPad Air hard as I never know if I will make the URL link or not.

Is this a new issue, or am I imagining this?

    Try clearing your Safari cache.

Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data

Do that all the time, it has no effect on connecting to linked urls.

I want to be sure I understand the issue

An app has a link it e.g. twitter. You click the URL, it launches Safari but instead of opening to the page referenced in the link it opens a blank page?

What happens if you click a link in an e-mail or in safari?

One example: received an email of your reply to my forum question. On my iPad Air and in the email, I clicked the link to the original forum URL post to reply. I was sent to the Safari, Google search page, NOT the forum URL.

I went back to the email, and POUNDED the iPad Air link to the forum URL AGAIN. This time I went to the forum post in Safari.
