Hey guys,

I saw early a picture on a thread here earlier of an iPhone X with a faulty display (a black blob of unlit screen on the notch).

How is your luck with launch day iPhones? I ALWAYS get a dud the first time around. I’m hoping my luck will change this time around!

Never had an issue with a lunch day phone since original back in 2007.

No yellow screens.

No chipped chamfers.

No dust under screen or camera.

No dead on arrival.

No dead pixels.

No stiff volume buttons.

No dead camera module.

No scratches out of the box.

I must be seriously lucky considering all of the issues I see every year.

I had the discoloration issue on the iPhone 5( tolerated it due to replacements being in much worse shape), but other than that no launch day issues with the original, 3G, 4, 6 Plus, and 7 Plus.

My iPhone 7 Plus had to be replaced at least four times last year because all the others made a crackling sound.

My Launch Day MacBook Pro 2016 had to be replaced due to popping issues.

My 2016 MBPr15 still makes popping noises. I just think of it as it's way to say 'hi', you are not deaf yet.
I had 5 different 2016 MBP 15" that clicked, so I gave up and waited until the 2017 MBP. The issues are finally gone... Hopefully they will issue a fix for the 2016 models!

My issues usually happen on the courier/delivery side of the equation. I have had UPS put my phone on the wrong truck during both of the last two launches. Most recently with my iPhone 8 where I had to spend half the day tracking down supervisors to finally get the phone dropped off after the driver finished his route.

Once I have the box in my hand, I tend to have good luck with the actual devices...fingers crossed!
