This is my question. I have the monitor mount and when I want to FT from the TV, I just transfer the monitor mount over.
was asking the same - have the monitor mount in my 2nd home but do not use it.
But I would be tempted to try the living room scenario with my mother.

Every TV I own is wall-mounted, so yeah this won’t work for me. There’s like a 2 or 3 foot gap from the bottom of the TV and the entertainment stand, so it looks ridiculous to use.

If there was a way to hang the mount from the bottom, that would work.
Why can’t you attach a magnet to your wall?

I have and use this one. Works fine but should be under $20. Alternatively you can place iPhone vertically into a coffee cup or a mug (empty works best) and use that as a stand. Same result but vertical screen.

FaceTime for Apple TV is kind of fun. The Center Stage feature works really nicely and will even reframe to account for additional people who enter the room. The Belkin adapter seems *super* over priced, though -- especially considering it seems like they want you to buy separate Continuity Camera mounts for TV, laptop and desktop.

After way too much scrolling on Amazon I found one that does all three for $25 -- and will even let you replace the included magnetic mount with a MagSafe puck. Also works free-standing on a desk.

Who in the household can use their iPhone for FaceTime on the ATV? Can each person with an ATV user profile? It would also be nice if any guest who is on your wifi could use their iPhone too.
As I recall anyone on same wifi using continuity camera and Apple TV 4K (2nd gen). If you don't show up as a user on Apple TV there is a setup process (scan QR code). So the first time you do this, you will want to take some time to setup and test drive. Search web, lots of "how to's" out there (even Apple support).

I have been using this for the last few weeks and if the bugs are fixed, this works exactly as described.

Others have been experiencing the same - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255545425?sortBy=best

POSITIVES
+ Quality is stunning when using my iPhone 15 Pro Max
+ Sound is crystal clear even when standing/sitting back from 5m
+ Through Zoom you can choose which rear camera you like to use (not sure about FaceTime)

NEGATIVES
- The video keeps disconnecting between the 12-17min mark (easy to reconnect but annoying)
- Cost of this thing should have been cheeper
- Lack of apps
