Its weird, but even though the apple remote is so small, I never lose it! Lost plenty of remotes in the past, but this thing is a real enigma.

They didn't even need to go that far. They could have just built in a speaker, and allow you to ping it. For a remote that is only lost within a few rooms of a house, that would have been more than enough to locate a missing remote.
Apple recommend putting an Apple Watch on your Apple TV remote to track it.

It's absolutely unforgivable Apple didn't put Find My functionality into their new remote, especially considering they announced both new products together. Really, really bad form.
Not only did they announce them together - there was a lost remote in the AirTags video!

Yeah, having a remote that fat makes it harder to lose in the first place. Do people really wander the house with their remotes so that losing it is an issue? Me, I always know exactly where my remote is when I can't see it. It's buried under the couch in the hardest place to reach. Always. :)

Maybe instead of attaching am airtag to it, the secret is just make the remote holder much bigger. and give it a handle. and sure a chip if you really need to. No fancy 3D printer required, a glue guns work great. something like this.. patent pending.
Me, I have been personally responsible for losing the remote a few times. I just have to re-trace my steps and I’ll find it laying on the fireplace mantle or some other place it’s not supposed to be. Get busy with something and lay it down then the hunt is on. I have never been able to not find it so not worried much about findmy or an AirTag

I don't lose my remote very often. My children on the other hand, lose it quite frequently. Any airtag article is filled with "What? People LOSE things? Ugh not me!".

This either shows how cheap Apple is becoming, or that they are getting so big that communication is breaking down. It is a no-brainer to add in AirTag functionality into the Siri Remote when you are announcing a new remote and a tracking device on the same day.

Why spend money, when there is the free option :)

Today I learned that 3D printers are free.

Why do you need an AirTag for something that stays around the house, like a TV remote? This is something where Tile still has a play, with their sticker tag.

Make it same as old people with haves use a bezel chain!
mot just educate yourself and your kids to always put back it at his place!
