I really like the microscopic lens and telescopic lens on smartphones. I find these two features very useful. Huawei in particular shines with these two. I have the Huawei P30 Pro and I thought both the microscopic and telescopic lens on it were very good for the time it was released and obviously now they have become even better.

I wouldn’t mind using this feature to look at the tiny white flies on my tomato plant, and bugs in general. But it’s too expensive for something I would probably stop using after awhile. Now if it was powerful enough to see tardigrades, that might convince me.
Tardigrades are lovely 😊
I guess they live ignoring how cute we, humans, find them.

This is great for older people who have difficulty reading small writing on packages or prescriptions pamphlets. Also good if you have a very small splinter in your skin where you can see it very clearly to pull it out after with tweezers. The telescopic ones available on Huawei P30,P40 and upcoming P50 are great for people who want to see something far away and can’t read what is written far away allowing them to see and read what they could not easily see or read before. These kinds of lenses and features are great. Maybe in a few years Apple will catch up with the Chinese features and start copying them then too 😜 😂 😇 . Took them many years to catch up and copy dual sim feature only to offer half the functions and features of what the Chinese ones offer and same for the OS as well. For the price of 1 smartphone in China they actually get 2 for the price of one due to features where we get 1 for the price of one in the US from Apple. Apple offers two on their computers but not on their smartphones and tablets

maybe great for forensic crime scene investigators?
in conjunction with the present camera array, the inclusion of a microscopic can add levels to the effective “Zoom Range”.

Apple should consider this in a future iPhone along with periscope zoom technology. We will have our four burner stove design on the iPhone soon enough.

After a few years they may copy what their competitors have been doing for a few years now

Would be great if you could buy such a macro lens with a ring light as an accessory to iPhone and stitch it to the lightning port. I guess this doesn’t exist yet?

OK, not for the average Instagrammer but it is very intersting for the quick photo on microstrutures. I wonder what the field of view is. The ability to take photos at an angle is highly useful.

I would happily give up the ultra-wide camera for a microscope camera. Macro-photography would be much more fun than group shots, something I would rarely need. And the ring light is genius.

This is a fantastic tool for people who work with electronic components like tiny SMD parts. You can use it to read the numbers on the parts to identify them and also inspect the soldering of the parts on the PCB. The price seems steep to me, though.

There's a zoom function in iOS, use that to read those smd parts.

Yeah, I saw this first on another channel, but surprisingly I kinda want it, even though it’s kinda gimmicky. I love macro photography!

As an artist & photographer who has pretty much ditched all other cameras for my iPhone, i would definitely welcome a macro lens on the next iPhone. I know it’s probably not high on the list for the general public, but I would love it. There is a whole other world to explore up close. There are so many times i wish my iPhone 11 Pro Max could focus closer. I plan to upgrade to the iPhone 13 when it comes out. And although I am not holding my breath that it will have a macro lens...that would be awesome if they improved the close focus distance. 🤞

I like it when they call a (likely poor quality) magnifying glass „microscope“. (No light? Then you won’t get close enough)
It reminds me of the pen I got as a kid: it was „approved in Space“ 😂

I bet you can't wait for the built in telescope...
