Tether 3GS & iPad witough JB the 3GS?

Hi all,

is it possible to do tethering by just jailbreaking the iPad (WiFI) and not my 3GS? I mean I have tethering enabled as my iPhone has no simlock (from Italy) so I would not really like to JB it.

No chance for an BT or USB tether?
