iPad Tethered iPad battery died won't charge and boot

My tethered ios5 iPad's battery died. Now it won't charge at all. So without enough battery I can't even boot it up with redsnow anymore. What should I do?

How long have you left it plugged into the wall socket to charge for?

Try charging it for like 12 hours

Leave it plugged in with the AC adapter for about an hour. Next, press and hold the Power/Sleep and Home buttons.

If it doesn't come on, try holding just the Power/Sleep button for up to 10 seconds.

The same thing happened to my wife's iPad 3 and we thought it was dead, but it wasn't.
