Will tethering be a standard feature without jailbreak on iPhone 4 and will there be additional data charges for this??

It's not standard. It's $20/mo for tethering + the 200MB or 2GB data plan. You can't use the old $30 unlimited plan and get tethering...

Actually, according to AT&T, you will need to have the Pro plan, which is the 2GB plan. You cannot have tethering with the 200MB plan.

Thx..
Looks like I'll eventually be jailbreaking my phone..not going to pay an additional $20/mo.
I have unlimited data with my plan.

Yes, it will be a standard feature. It requires the $45 "DataPro with Tethering" plan, which is basically the $25 DataPro plan with a $20 surcharge for the ability to tether.

if you have unlimited data can you tether? or do you have to go from unlimited to the 2GB data plan?

Also keep in mind, ATT iPhone tethering doesn't work with the iPad, only j/b + MyWi does.

wonder if we'll be able to activate the feature via an IPCC update

I know the iOS 4 has the option for tethering available right off the bat, however it wouldn't let me turn it on

i'm hoping a simple ipcc file will work, i don't wanna JB the phone if i don't have to
