im away from home and dont have wifi where im at so i have been using tethering from my iphone 3gs .... is there anyone out there whos also been using tethering who could tell me how much data it uses up? im just worried that im going to get an outrageous bill next month!

Tethering doesn't show on the iPhone. You have to look online at your account to see that (and it's of course after the fact by maybe a few days). Anyway, no one has been charged for tethering that I know of. We had a lot of threads (and arguments) about this awhile back (back in June from what I remember).

Edit: I was referring to people using the hack here in the U.S. in my comments.
 
I remember reading that the Canadian service provider would not charge for tethering until next year.

My guess is they want to see how much use there is of it and then decide on a pricing scheme.

ATT plans on cleaning out people wallets IF/WHEN the bring tethering here!!!!
