so i had mywi for a while...apperantly it was hacked, i guess it wasn't hacked appropriately because it turned out to just be a 3day trial..:/ i didn't even get to use it. i tested it, it worked, but i didn't use it. is there another app that would allow me to tether? I'm still iffy about paying 20$ for mywi, the reason being, I'm not sure if it'll be blocked by VZN, or if ill always have my phone jailbroken. i plan to, but there may be a time when i will HAVE to restore it for some stupid reason. Anyhow, is there an ACTUAL MyFi that's hacked or another alternative app...?

    -thanks:):):D

Do you know that it is against the forum rules for discussing pirated things? You've been here since 2008!

If you are too cheap to pay then there's an alternative. PDAnet is free and tetherme is cheaper.

"Apparently it was hacked" I guess someone snuck in at night and added illegal repositories to your Cydia sources while you were sleeping and you accidentally searched MyWi and accidentally ignored the one with blue font and went straight for the pirated version. Brilliant.

Quit being so cheap.. Spend the $20.. Besides they update the product all the time. Cheap b@stards, want a jailbreak then everything for free.

MyWi comes with a free 3 day trial so it doesn't sound like he had a "hacked" version of the app. I think he just described the free trial badly. If you are looking for a tethering app and your with Verizon (means you have a 4 or 4S) then buy tetherme. It is only 2 or 3 dollars and works ALOT better than MyWi. There won't be an app icon added to your home screen. It simply unlocks the factory hotspot/tethering feature the phone has built in. It's just like you had Verizon activate tethering on your phone. Tetherme also hides your tethering usage by routing all data through the same APN so that Verizon can't see you are tethering.

agree w/ the above... mywi has a lot more options, and used to have a nice feature called ondemand, so your ipad (or other ios device) could automatically establish a bluetooth tether connection with your phone when it was without wifi and needed internet access... but this feature hasn't worked correctly since ios 5.x

save your money and definitely get tetherme

Couldn't have said it better, MyWi has been horribly buggy for a while now. I gave up on it after the hotspot feature was unlocked in iOS 4.3.3. Save yourself some money and go with Tetherme, it works 100% of the time and you don't have to update it constantly.
