will the internet connection through tethering on the iPhone 3.0 be a fast connection or just be an average one? Lemme know![]()
It will be 3G speeds.
It will be 3G speeds, unless if the speeds are faster than the USB cable can handle.
In that case, the limit will be how fast your USB cable can transfer the data.

Hah. USB 2.0 has a max speed of 480 Mbit/s: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_2.0#USB_2.0
The fastest 3G connection I've ever got on my iPhone with AT&T was only around 400 kbit/s. Not even if the iPhone was HSPA+ capable (max speed 42 Mbit/s, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HSPA%2B) would it be able to max out the pipe that USB 2.0 provides.

Thanks for you great answer, why post if you have nothing to add?
..pretty sure your lack of a comment breaks the forums rules as well![]()
