Is there a way to make an exceptions list for Text Edit's spell check?

For example, theres a street name called Minnewawa (pronounced mini-wah wah) that spell check will always underline because it doesn't recognize it as a legitimate word.

Is there anyway to put a word like Minnewawa on a "white list" ?

Open a document that has "Minnewawa" in it (underlined)

Double-click on "Minnewawa" to select it.

Now, CONTROL-click on the selection and from the contextual menu, choose "Learn Spelling".

Does this work for you?
