Text in PDF not displaying in Preview

Alright so I have a PDF I've created in Acrobat Pro X. Just simple helvetica and some images. Export a reduced size PDF, open in Preview to test, no text. You can select the text as if it's there but it won't display. The images show up fine. Any tips folks?

Scads of information missing. I presume that you created the PDF using Acrobat Distiller. You make no mention of the source file for the PDF. Also, PDF comes in several versions with varying degrees of compatibility. You make no mention of which version you used for your file.
