I've done this on iOS 10 and it works perfectly.
To save space, you could TRY not including the Attachments folder, which is likely taking up most of the 30GB.
I recommend making a duplicate of the backup before mucking around at all.
Thats what I use, won't work on iOS 10 backups. Just tried right now. Errors out. Had an iOS 9 that worked right away.iBackupbot
Very interesting. Yeah I have two 10.3.2 backups, both unencrypted and it won't find them. It gives me an error. But it read the 9.3.3 right away.I'll check at home. I went from 8.4 - 10.1.1 which would have involved accessing the 10.1.1 backup and it was ok.
That's very weird. Not working on 10.3.2.Just tested in 10.1.1 with an unencrypted backup, seems fine
