Sorry to bring up an old thread but I was wondering the same thing and this is the only thread that I could find.
Basically, I would like to set up a group for text messages (family, friends, etc) so I don't have to individually select each person each time I send a message to certain groups of people. Is this possible? If not, is there a jailbreak program or hack that makes it possible?

You can send a text to a group of friends, then keep that group up on your SMS app. As long as you don't delete it, it will stay there. Of course the replies will come back as individuals because you won't be able to tell who sent what.
