when i receive a text message from my daughters Verizon phone i don't get the whole message in the little message cloud. and it doesn't come in 2 separate messages either. any suggestions?

iphone 3G jailbroke

Most carriers impose a 160 character limit on a text message to limit the transmission bandwith. I don't know if AT&T does this on other phones, but they don't on the iPhone. Thus, your daughter may type more than 160 characters, but Verizon refuses to transmit any more than just the first 160. So you are getting the entire message as transmitted. Tell your daughter to be less verbose while texting and your problem should clear up

ATT limits it to 160 characters, however in my experience it will send the rest of it as another message (under 160 characters, of course).

Well,
a. AT&T doesn't impose that limit on iPhones and other smartphones with data plans

b. AT&T may send it in a second text, but Verizon doesn't
