Im currently a Cingular/AT&T subscriber. All the information says that in order to use the Iphone I just need to add the data plan.
The plan that I currently have includes free text messages.Does that mean that I will still get free messaging, or will it go to the 200 only?

If you watch the activation video on Apple's web site (I don't feel like finding the link) you will see that 1500 messages are an extra $10 per month and unlimited are $20 per month. This is all done in iTunes when you activate your phone and sign up for your iPhone plan.

I did, and I am aware of that option, but i already have free messaging with my current plan, so my question is, is that voided out?

Why should it be? All you're doing is adding an unlimited data plan.

Put differently, you're paying $10 for unlimited messaging with a $10 credit (at least in effect). Should stay.
