Text (SMS) Not clearing on watch after upgrading phone

This is happening to both my wife and my watches after we upgraded to the new iPhone. SMS texts don't get cleared from the watch when cleared on the phone.

Can't seem to get it to work.

Any ideas?

If you get a text on the phone and open to read, it won’t sync as read on the watch. To my knowledge, Apple didn’t allow iCloud sync to work with that particular aspect.

It worked fine before we got the new phones.

It should sync read messages. But it will not sync deleted.

When you say cleared, what do you mean, viewed or deleted? As noted above, deletions do not sync.
