Text To Speech

i have a quesiton where do u go to type in stuff and the comuter says it like i have seen the speech in the system perferences and all the settings u can change but where can u actually type it in and it says it ???

Highlight the text you want spoken, look under the menu with your application name in the menubar and go to services – in here you'll see 'speech', under there there's an option to 'Start speaking text'.

I've always used TextEdit to do that, open it up, type something, go to Edit and close to the bottom is "speech."
