I noticed that on the front page the text underlining of links has changed. The space between the characters and the line has increased by a few pixels, enough to be noticeable and (to me) look a bit weird.

I am just curious why this was changed.

Top image is from the Wayback machine on Jan. 4 and the bottom image is from today. I can't see any difference in Safari.

Maybe @arn or @WildCowboy can tell us if some CSS code was changed, but I'm not seeing it.
 
You are correct that the visuals seem to have looked the same in January. I am not sure why I am only seeing this now, because I noticed a difference right away today. I think it might be an issue on my end then (or I need new glasses!). Either way, I think the thread is resolved.
 
we didn't change anything on purpose. Sometimes things slip through, but it looks "normal" to me. We did darken the link color at some point for accessibility purposes I believe, but that would have been months ago.
