TextEdit - change default colors

Hi,

I need to change the default TextEdit behavior; white text on black background. Looked around and I can't seem to find a solution.

White on black is much easier on the eyes.

Thanks for the links. I went through them quickly and they don't seem to mention how to change the default colors 🙁

I take it it's not doable?
