Texting isn't in the T9 dictionary either, so the majority of phones won't know it.

An easier way to make it learn the word is to type "Texting" and when Auto-Correct comes up, click the "X" next to the correction.

Its checks a dictionary, apple doesn't write dictionaries.

The iPhone automatically updates its dictionary based on your usage. When I first got my iPhone, it kept correcting me everytime I typed my friends' names. After several times, it doesn't correct me anymore. Just a few days ago, when I typed a word that I use commonly, I noticed that it didn't correct me anymore. It learns. But I agree with the original poster that there are some words, such as "texting" that it won't add to its dictionary no matter how many hundreds of times we type it. The dictionary auto-update "learning" does not treat all words equally. Apple, please fix this.

Whenever I type "goin" the iPhone wants to capitalize the word "Goin"... I have no idea why...

On the other hand, if I type "goon" it changes it to "goin", not capitalized...

Any ideas on how to fix that? LOL

It can't be fixed, iPhone has become self aware. Pretty soon you're going to be attacked by shiny unibody terminators.
