Hi guys;

I have an iPhone 5 with iOS7.0.4. I've been having a problem lately where, unless my Messages app is open; the text does not send (iMessage to).
So, if I'm typing a text, I hit "send", then minimize the app and go to my home screen, it essentially freezes the sending and stops Untill I open the app again. This is very frustrating! I've reset my phone, twice, hard reset, double checked settings. I'm not really sure what to do at this point.
Any help?

When you bring the message app back to the foreground is the message still sending. Or did it fail to send and you need to resend?

Are you sure the message didn't send? Maybe its just finishing the animation when you open it back up, but the message still sent?

Could it be a problem with your carrier?

Does it send out text messages if you turn iMessage off?

Messages is a system process so it never closes/pauses as far as the process goes.

Mine does this too. I think the messages are sending though, but it just completes the animation when you go back in... Which always makes me wonder if it just sent then. However, I often send messages and switch applications before it animates it, and it seems to still work fine.

If you enable your sound, I think you should still hear the 'whoop' sound, even with the messages app in the background (indicating it sent).

Silly iOS 7....

It's just strange, started a couple weeks ago. It's never done it before. Enabling my sounds it does indeed send; just finishes the animation when I enter the app. Thanks guys!
