My text message alerts me when my iphone is on but if in stanby I get no alerts. Any ideas

So you don't get anything at all when the device is locked? Even if you turn on the screen (without unlocking) there's no notification that appears there?

What happens once you unlock? Do you then suddenly get new notifications that were waiting?
