Just wanted to give Apple credit for such a quality product. I got this beauty when it was released in Late 2011 and I have kept her more well maintained than myself honestly.

The battery, finally, after four + years gave the "replace soon" message. This is the first stage of messages when the battery starts becoming weak, so in truth I can still go much longer...like a year or two longer if I want (probably will).

1300 cycles is nothing to complain about and I still get five-six hours out of it on light browsing.

Now if only the iPhones could start getting the same love...

I've had to replace my 2008 MacBook Pro's battery almost once every 1.25yrs since I purchased it. :)

Still - the laptop is nearly 8yrs old and I'm shocked it still works as well as it does (though, I've maxed the RAM to 6GB and installed an SSD a couple of years back to make it more snappy). I just wish that Apple didn't throttle the CPU when the laptop is running without a battery (or a dead one).

Wow nice. I think I might just pull another year out of mine since the Skylake MBP's got delayed so much. The AMD graphics upgrade this year was a bummer.

Its physics, the charger can't provide enough current on its own for full CPU power, hence the "no battery" power reduction so it can stay within the charger's ability to supply power.

My 2010 MBP's battery needs replacing and my 2012 rMBP is getting there. I'm generally happy with how both have managed so I can't complain. I'm fairly confident that my 2012 will last another year if I opt to keep it

My early 2011 MBP 15" currently has a cycle count of almost 950. Says "Normal" but truth be told my onscreen time has been pretty dreadful for years.

Thinking about getting it replaced, but going to swap out HDD for Samsung PRO 850 in the next week. So will see if that makes any difference first!

My 2012 15" MBP is currently at 1969 battery cycles with 89% capacity and its still going strong. Apple certainly knows how to make a good battery.

My 2015 15" MBP has 13 cycles with it's health being 93.6%. I bought this computer in June of 2015. Not sure what they did to the batteries for this year. Last time I used it on battery. it dropped nearly 3%.

Apple doesn't build batteries. They buy them from a manufacturer.

Here's who made my battery in my 2015 15":

My battery for my 2012 MB Pro was made by SMP. I am wondering if your issue is due to poor quality from Dynapack?

My early 2011 MBP has an SMP battery too, its currently showing 1049 cycles and normal condition

I also have a 2012 13" MBP and it's battery is made by SMP. I bought this MBP brand new last summer, a month after buying my 2015. The 2012 has 15 cycles with battery health of 94.7.
