Well, tomorrow's the day I get my Apple Watch. It's due to be picked up from UPS at about 10a tomorrow and so at around 10:30a tomorrow, if everything goes well, I should finally be opening it up and trying it on for the first time.

This honestly has been the longest I've ever had to wait for a new apple device. It's been extremely difficult seeing other people get theirs first when I've become so accustomed to ordering early, getting it early. But that's why I've titled this post "Thank You" — because I'm so grateful to have had this community of equally obsessive, borderline neurotic apple fans to share the anxiety of this new launch with.

I'm sure I could have done this without all of you, but I doubt it would have been as fun.

Thank you all. And looking forward to discovering this fun, new, beautiful device with all of you. :)

How did you setup the pickup, and at what point can you do that? Mine went to PFS and I got a tracking number (which registers but shows no movement). How do I have them hold it at the nearest center or whatever?

It indeed has been a pleasure.
Don't be a stranger once you get it!
There's still plenty to talk about around here!

See you on the other side!
Hope you enjoy yours as much as I've enjoyed mine.

Sign up for UPS My Choice, and insert your tracking number. It will give you the option to have it sent to a store for pickup. That's how I did it. Unfortunately, it tacked on a couple of extra days to the delivery.

That's not true. Mine was in route and I had it redirected to a UPS store (using UPS My Choice) before it came to my house. Had to do it as I had to work on delivery day and I wasn't going to let a $400 watch sit on my front doorstep all evening.

...

Once I had the UPS tracking number, I just clicked the
[ Change Delivery >> ] button and requested they hold it at the UPS hub. Then they don't put on the truck and you can pick it up when their office opens (8:30am here) — so can actually get it quicker than having it delivered to your doorstep (presuming you're near the UPS hub — it may take longer to go to a UPS store).

Yeah, I had to have mine held for pickup as I was working on the day of delivery and didn't want to have it sitting on my doorstep all evening. My watch was actually en route to my house, and I stopped it with the My Choice site. As I was leaving the house to go to work, the UPS driver was just down my street! Talk about a downer! Then the UPS store closed before the driver finished his runs, so he couldn't deliver to my pickup destination, and wrote something like "wrong house number" on the delivery. Apple sent me an email stating they couldn't find my house, and they were going to have the package sent back to them. I ended up calling UPS, and had it held at a major hub, so I picked up the package the next day. Craziness, and I can't help but think it would have all been easier if Apple were just a little more solid with their delivery date!
