After a few weeks of trying to replace my silicon case for my 3G with a hard-shell one i gave up. All I can say is I am thankful I didn't change. I was at the pool and accidently dropped my phone on the concrete deck. To my surprise it simply bounced and landed flat. There were a few small scuffs on the case which I wiped away and no damage to the phone at all. I think I am going to keep this case for now
