I did like many others and tried using the Apple Store app but it was 12:05 and I couldn't get in.

However when I look on these boards there are a number of people saying they were already done via the Verizon app.

I jumped on my MBP, went to the Verizon site and ordered the phone I wanted with a Nov 3 ship/delivery date.

If I didn't have these forums I would have just kept hammering the Apple app.

So thanks everyone!!

I was hammering the app and the apple.com website via my iMac. The website was the first to respond, so I went that route. Ended up with an 11/3 date for my 256GB Silver AT&T X ... the app finally came up when I was waiting for my ApplePay payment to be processed on the website.
