Knowing that it is going to take a long time for some apps that are essential to you to be updated for the new phone.

Big inhale, big exhale. Now does it feel all better. Guess you will have to wait six months before you get the 6.

Some apps took over a year to fit the iPhone 5 screen, and plenty still aren't updated to the iOS7 keyboard etc. It's a long process for many apps. Having a tiny app hovering in the middle of a gigantic screen will be annoying, to say the least. Perhaps they will fit better from the off, I have no idea...

Current rumors suggest the iPhone 6 (both 4.7" and 5.5") versions will have the same aspect ratio as the iPhone 5. If so, all Apple needs to do is a simple rescale same as what they did with non-retina apps on the iPad 3. What you might expect to see is just some blurriness and/or pixelation.

First world problems huh

It is because people care about details, convenience, and luxury that one gets to become a first world country.

And it is because we are in a place of relative comfort that one gets to self-righteously and hypocritically point out that certain things are first world problems.

Every post, and this entire forum could be classed as 'first world problems'.
Apps not fitting the screen is right up there in terms of 'issues', whether they're life and death or not.

The format of the title of this thread makes me want to throw up.

FFS... STOP with the "that moment when" CRAP. GD KIDS!!!!!!!!!

*That moment when you realize you should probably just step away from the keyboard*

That awful feeling about iPhone 6 having the biggest bezel I have ever seen. Also less than 1080p scaling-movies-display.

This one, I don't get. The screen of the iPhone 5/5s is almost perfectly 16:9 (1136:640 = 1.775; 1920:1080 = 1.7777...). 1080p videos should scale almost perfectly on the iPhones. Now if you meant movies with 2.35:1 aspect ratio, obviously, you're gonna have some letterboxing if you don't want the video looking all elongated. Currently, I'm unaware of any brand-name Android smartphone with 2.35:1 aspect ratio so really, they're pretty much in the same boat as the iPhone.

In what way, developers already have the betas.

I must have missed the part that says iPhone 6 in that link

Just step outside for 5 minutes ... you will be fine. Trust me.

So I stepped outside for a few minutes, continued thinking about the fact it would likely take a year before the app I use to access work emails would no longer be using half the screen, walked back inside and was pissed off again. Your suggestion sucked

All of the functionalities that will ever be used in the iPhone 6 are in the new resources that are available in the Develper Portal as in the "betas".

Maybe that's what the "resizable iPhone" development tool is for...

Scaling down video on the fly at 24-30 fps is a huge drain of processing power and battery juice. Not to mention they waste space and/or bandwidth.

Still be nice for conversions across all devices and screen sizes.

Btw is you pic and u/n an anime reference? Seems like a worthwhile watch if you used it but I can't find much aside other forums you are a member of lol.

From what Ive been reading on some of the threads here, you should just be able to use an iPad mini, if you want a larger phone. Apps work on that! :)
