I have the Encode Plus as well. Was working great. Got notifications instantly when locked / unlocked. Recently the lock just stopped sending notifications. I have tried it all: reset lock by taking out batteries, reset homehub, phones etc. The lock is still connected via thread and responds instantly to lock / unlock via Home app or devices. Just no notifications.

Anyone else seeing this problem? Any solutions? Is this just another of the many bugs we will have to wait for a future update to fix?
I had to reset mine countless times - removing it from the native and Home app as well, and performing a hard reset on the lock itself just to get it to work and sync with the Home app.
This went on for days driving me to the point of insanity.

Now if only I can get automations to work!

I'm glad I found this thread. I was contemplating switching from Amazon to Homekit. Sounds like the experience is even worse than what I've been dealing with.

Update. I figured out the problem. The notifications stop when Apple TV is the home hub. To prevent this you can disable Apple TV as homehub or force to switch my power cycle. Strange bug. Maybe 16.2 and the new architecture fixes. Lock is back to normal operations. Hope this helps for anyone else that has missed notifications problem.

Apple need to stop ****ing developing everything and the sink and concentrate a year or so on just fixing everything they currently have.

THIS. No more new features for a year (or more, if necessary), and concentrate on really fix and polish everything that they already offer.

I’m on the verge of joining you. I’ve always dabbled with HomeKit, but over the last month or so have really tried to get it fully set up. The results have…not been great. Biggest issue is that once a device is finally setup and initially working, it ends up going into ‘No Response.’ Even the Apple TV is usually unresponsive in the Home app, despite the fact that it otherwise works fine.

Through some testing it seems as though my particular issue is that HomeKit doesn’t like something in my fiber ONT/ER-4/Eero Pro 6/unmanaged switch setup. (Seemingly the ER-4.) However, everything works about 100% perfectly in the Google Home app, which I also set up. Dumb and unattractive UI, but works very well. I primarily control it with my voice via a Google/Nest Hub, so thankfully I don’t need to look at the app too often.

I recently made a HomePod mini the hub instead of my ATV, in the hopes that Matter and/or Thread will help. I’ll give it some time, but I’m not optimistic.

im happy I never gave homekit a chance to irk me.
perhaps just playing my own music and syncing with the tv is all that is great for.

The sound on the mini is incredible and just replaced my Bose sound touch for good yesterday!
Would 2 HomePod minis sound better?

Automatons sometimes stop working but it’s better than Google & Alexa in my experience

I'm on the verge too! Each time I add a new device in a scene, it's not taken into account by automations, even though "Test this automation" gives the expected result. I have to delete the scene and create it again. Also, some devices don't respond from time to time... I read somewhere that having two homepods is a problem (too bad). You have to program to reboot them (at night for instance), one by one. It works, indeed, but... seriously ? New updates regularly break the whole setup.
It's so unreliable that it makes homekit useless. Who will accept a switch won't switch the light on... frome time to time?If you want to play or show to friends, ok. If you want serious home automation, go somewhere else.
