Heads up kids….there is really nothing “Air” about the current 13” MBA at 2.7 lbs; Apple and everyone knows it. That’s why they stopped printing it on the laptops. These and the new 15” will simply become MacBooks and a new “Air” product line will get launched that around the 2 lb / 1 kg weight mark. You heard it here, from me, first!😜

In Macs the suffix Air means economic.

In iPads no because it is the iPad that is cheap, the Air (and the minis that are smaller Air) are in the middle range, below the Pros.

In iPhones, the prefix SE has become cheap since SE 2020.

In the Apple Watches the cheap ones were the Sport, then called Nike, but after that the SE became them.

In all products the minis are NOT the cheap, they are the small ones. The problem is that in some markets the size of the device also indicates the value, a bit like a flock of sheep.

Ironically, at this point, the 'Air' branding has nothing to do with weight. Your suppositions are based on this fallacy and you are very likely utterly wrong.

it is very plausible and even logical. We'll know in few days though

Well, then perhaps we need another Macbook, about the same screen size or bigger, but in a heavier and thicker body, two ports more and with the same IPS LCD for even cheaper price than MBA 15 😃?
For folks in EU it would be gods sent machine given how expensive these things have become here over past year.

Yeah, reputation of anonymous poster on online forum, lol, who cares 😃

I am glad that they “aired” it, even if it was in “error”.

Also, we all noted that they “erred” in their sweeping assertion!

Close the (Mac) book on this one…

(groan!)
