Hi everyone,
(don't want to read the below? Go straight to the Test, if you do not see constant interlaced lines on the right your display is faulty.)
I feel my PowerBook suffers from the same screen issues and they are annoying. Get even more annoying the longer you use your PowerBook.
I went to my dealer to get it fixed ... he told me he does not see any thing wrong with it and no lines... 😱
After 15 minutes of me insiting there to be lines I wanted to have fixed he agreed on ordering a replacement display.
I'm still uncomfortable with the feeling of someone else not seeing what my problem is, so I took some time and found on osdir that their background for the images had those lines. So I checked the image and saw it was SOLID. no lines...
Next was: using Gimp and drawing an image that should visualize what I saw, what I ended up with was a 4 frame GIF that overlays the right part with 5% black lines, offsets: 0, 1 and 5% white lines with offsets 0,1.
On a faulty PowerBook (e.g. mine) you see on the right: interlaced lines, with the next frame solid color.
On a non-faulty Display you see interlaced lines on the right all the time, no matter if the offset is 0 or 1.
Here is the test-gif.
I have taken a shot of the Apple Logo using my Digital camera, furthermore I marked the lither lines with black lines on the right on this image:
I'm not very happy with the way this issue gets handled.
Input on my testimage would be greatly appreciated.
kindest regards,
Moritz Angermann
