I suppose but it was a bad idea. If they would have kept the keyboard to the MB and MBA there would be a lot less criticism IMO.

Just curious, did you listen to this weeks episode of The Talk Show with John Gruber with Casey Johnston as the guest?

It may be an admission of guilt and a HUGE step in the right direction but there are still so many things they didn't change -

-Touchbar elimination/optional
-Trackpad size
-Glowing logo
-Magsafe/lighted charge indicator
-Ports (I suppose)

And there wasn't a DAMN thing wrong with the 2008-2015 keyboard.

I'm on my pristine, 14 battery cycle mid-2015 purchased new last year (July 2018 manufacture date) right now and damn what a nice machine this is. This is a machine for which I have NO complaints, other than the screen could be brighter, but I'll always say that no matter how bright.

So the 16" is definitely a step in the right direction (I ordered one today), but there's still a lot of room for improvement without going backwards to 2015 entirely. Make the Touchbar an option or in addition to standard function keys above the keyboard, bring back the glowing logo (if this isn't impossible due to some sort of opaque reflective film making the newer screens brighter, which it may be), and for ****'s sake you can keep the 4 USB-C ports, but add a Magsafe back on? And is there any reason the trackpad can't shrink by 20%, it would still be huge?

My mid-2015 has 8 I/Os including the headphone jack. The new one has...5. At the very least then, there could easily be 6 USB-C ports instead of 4.

Touch bar - great as an optional thing.
Trackpad size - I tend to think this is subjective and I personally like the current size.
Glowing logo - Why? Most of the time you won’t see it anyways. Nostalgia?
magsafe - Yes, but there are third party options.
Ports - I like USB-C.
